Was unsure of discussing this since the broader OSC seems to be pretty unaccepting of objectos but good thing most of us are from tumblr, the place where I'm sure at least half of my OSC mutuals are objectophiles  Do you guys have any real life object crushes? Or general types of objects you get attached to? Are there any object show characters that you like that fall under this category? Personally, my favorite little guys as of late are stethoscopes... Medical objects in general, but that one gets me in particular. Electric Guitars are lovely too, both in how they sound and how they look. Instruments have been one of my earliest crushes, next to handheld gaming consoles. I've turned all three of these crushes into OCs! Or well, rather used them as inspiration since I see as real objects as nonsentient and like to keep it that way. I talked about them in another thread but here they are.
I can recommend everyone do this with their objectum crushes. It's fun.

Obv the system's objectum experiences are broader and no type of preference is shared by all of us even if we're all objectum in some way (not all in a typical attraction wya though, some are objectumplatonic or objectumfamilial) buuut let me jjust *attempt* to summarize mine.
For starters, some of my PLENTIFUL partners are IRL objects! Currently 3 plushies and a little crotchet finger puppet we've had since childhood. I love toys a lot, one of my primary attraction types! Puppets, plushies, figurines, floaties, all sorts of other knickknacks to mess around with are still dear to me and I love collecting (and making, sometimes!) them. Not extensively though, too lower class to indulge aha.
Another major one is music! I've always felt very queer and gender envious about it, but it's been only accelerated by our more recent secondary spinterest in music, which I'm the primary "holder" of. Besides that, I'm also ccrrrraazyyy about weapons and also medical equipment like you (often syringes and scalpels, tho.) And of course those metal arcade dance game pads. Latvian goverment give me 10k to get one /silly.
For some smaller scale ones, uuuuh I like tech in general a lot but I'm not as attracted to tech as a lot of people in objectum spaces are. There's also a building in specific in my area I like a lot but I can't say because that'd be doxxing us, prolly. Other notable but but not too big ones are games & websites at times. Vehicles also are neat. Generally I like a lot of stuff asjdsjdsh the world is just soooo full of things to be gay about!
Bringing it BACK to bigtime ones, I like bags and other containment things of similar kind, and what's prolly tied with toys for my strongest attraction, paper office folders, or atleast things of that shape. This is just ME as one alter though. There's a lot of experiences to be shared from us.

I have made a bass guitar objectum crush oc for myself as well but i dont have her with me rn  WHERE DO I BEGIN, god bass guitars are my first objectum crushes ever they are my awakening ever. I've randomly sent a friend of mine pictures of pretty bass guitars before without telling them i have an objectum crush on them but they know now HAHAHA, its ok theyre not meanspirited about it. and then looking for references for motorcycles got me realizing god, theyre kind of cute and pretty. I love all motorcycles but chopper bikes... theyre so fucking cool, fuck yea, theyre like butches to me if anyone gets what im saying.. fuck yea butch women |

I've only ever had one kind of object crush, and it happened after learning about objectum and just wondering if I fell in that category! LOOK AT THIS THANG....peak boxy design it makes me feel things man I love this clunky Xerox model  Aside from this, I don't exactly have crushes on objects, I just grow really attached to them, like my plushies, toys, even trash. I fucking LOVE scrap metal and I will fight if someone tries to steal my precious parts away! I could create new life out the junk....its something I've always wanted to do, create life from what people would normally cast aside and die That's my take!!! Objectum people are valid and I might be somewhere in there, I just don't fully know! |

I have a small collection myself. Another major one is music! Fellow Musichead. High-five. One of my earliest crushes was my violin that I haven't used in over a decade... sorry </3 Something about string instruments man. And syringes <3 I'm glad I don't have a fear of needles, they're so so cute. Haha. Also because I have to take them a lot... There's a bit of an oversaturation almost in the community, If you can even call it that with such a small community xP Buildings I can get behind too! There's a specific one I really like, related to my SpInterest in techno history. The abandoned, wonderful U60311, one of the most important techno clubs of its area and time.  ^Picture I took. well i did spend a long *ss time yesterday writing a homer's odyssey type length reply to this thread but yknow what im just gonna simplify it down to it's nice to see so many inanimate object sympathizers on the forum. excited to see people talk more about their experiences

aaaaaaaaa yes!!!!!!! my objectum awakening (before I rly knew the label) was the House on Ash Tree Lane from House of Leaves. I still have SUCH a huge crush on it 💗💖💗 Will Navidson was an IDIOT and I could've fixed her <3
In general, I really REALLY like living architecture!!! The house from Anatomy, Eskew from I Am In Eskew... I am OBSESSED
I also really like real-world architecture and houses, but ngl I tend to have more interest in fictional living buildings than real ones. However. The bond btwn a house and its inhabitants. The trust you put in a house to protect you and the trust the house has that you will care for it. I think of it every single day.
also the Cheyenne supercomputer went on auction and was sold recently and she's so beautiful... GOD I wish I had half a million dollars!! those wires are so pretty!!!!
I crochet and do pottery and stuff and the little things I create feel like my children. There's this older potter named George Ohr who was known for chasing people down the street and begging them to reconsider after he sold them one of his pieces (which he called his "mus babies") and every day I understand him more and more. Most of my pottery is in a storage unit and I miss it so much!!!!! I want to see it again!!!! but at least I have my blankets ::') (I miss my comforter that's also in the storage unit)
also I rly want to make an object oc based off the vitals machine I use at work. Every time I get people's vitals I feel like I'm leading around an old, sickly horse (in a good way). I love that little guy 💖 even though it takes like 2 FULL minutes to get vitals sometimes. He's just trying his best!!!!!!!
