A while ago, one of our good TTRPG friends (the GM of the main campaign we are in, actually!) showed us a nice little series of animated episodes and audio logs (with some visuals) called Hunter: The Parenting, based off World of Darkness TTRPG series lore, specifically Hunter: The Reckoning and Vampire: The Masquerade TTRPG systems. And we've been obsessed ever since, enough so to want a copy of one of the 5thE corebooks of the WoD games released so far. Just gotta decide which one, because all of them at once is too expensive, aha...
Anyways, the simplest way to describe Parenting is: a family of 5 vampire hunters go trough a series of wacky adventures. It's partially a comedy show, but not entirely silly either. The style of humor and visual style can be a hit or miss for people, but we ended up liking both!
As for content warnings, ones we recall off the top of our head are: violence, gore (the 4th animated episode got restricted for this, even though it's not the worst gore in animations on YT. somehow HTF gets to stay unrestricted but not this, lol), death, torture, a group of characters are very explicitly fascists, mind control (character backstory), slavery (character backstory), usage of guns/gun violence, jumpscares (mild). There's probably more of less present ones, just generally keep in mind the source lore material is for like, older teens and up, and this applies very much to Parenting as well despite the surface level tone. It's Called World of Darkness for a reason.
You don't really need to know anything about WoD to like Parenting (we didn't when we initially got into it!), as you can still atleast partially infer on what unfamiliar terms and names mean, but it does somewhat help.
It's hard to decide who our fav character is, as many of them are charming and intriguing. It's split between Door (he's awesome) and Kitten (host is gay and gender & NH presentation envious (you'll understand when you see him) about him. He's also just a really nice dude). Oh yeah uuuh the names are a bit silly in Parenting. You'll get used to it.
