clickbaiting so bad with the thread title i know it's not particularly controversial but i've never seen anyone else shipping these 2 outside of like collective freesmart shipping
does anyone else think ice cube / pencil could be anything. like i don't know maybe i'm crazy but i think about it all the time and it could be everything to me. ice cube in bfdi-bfdia having a crush on pencil the entire time and wanting to get closer to her but pencil never reciprocating or picking up on any of her signals. icy then deciding from bfb on that she's done with pencil and freesmart and hates her now. but secretly she still imagines kissing her sometimes and just gets more pissed off about it

honestly anything related to freesmart makes me go crazy i like this… its so great to me tbh and works very well with however else you interpret freesmart dynamics matchcil truther? gives you an easy reason for pencil to not reciprocate. or alternatively just read it as ice cube having a crush on both of them, it works either way love ice cube and book's dynamic? book could so easily be the one to comfort ice cube after she realizes things arent going to work... you can even pivot this into ice cube x book if that's more your style (personally i just see them as friends, but i think the two of them would be super super close from idfb at least up to the taco book arc) my personal favorite interpretation of it is like. ice cube admitting her feelings to book, and then book being the one to approach iance (or whatever is left of the alliance post tpot) and trying to become friends with match and pencil again for icy's sake and then pencil has to realize how much she actually did care about ice cube and book, and work through her own issues with being dismissive and mean to her friends ... also it'd be really funny to me if bubble knew about icys crush the whole time, and then she has to be the one break it to pencil when she's like "why is icy acting so mad if she wants to be friends again" LOLLL i don't know if shit would necessarily work out, maybe pencil wouldn't ever reciprocate. but i just love imagining it at least as a one sided thing from icy's side, it just makes watching them interact in bfdia soooo much more fun to me. and IDK it could be cute... if pencil actually learned how to not treat her friends like shit in order to make ice cube happy i feel like they could be a sweet couple
i can only hope that book and ice cube become friends again at some point in tpot... it seems like they're finally giving the book-taco arc a proper conclusion so. at the very least i feel like we're gonna get some kind of book-bleh reconciliation eventually |

this works to me because to me the ongoing bit with freesmart is that it's built on unhealthy psychosexual dynamics. ice cube probably does feel this way about pencil, just like she feels this way about book, and will come to regret both of these things
