First actual post & marking my territory by talking about the ship that has had me in a chokehold for nearly 3 years... Part of me wants to say Winner x Clock is a fairly popular ship - I mean It definitely seemed to be after TPOT 1 but It sure dwindled down in popularity afterwards. I stuck around tho x] and It seems to pick up again in popularity...Not that I mind much either way. I have a lot of thoughts on them. The way their backstories parralled each other has always been something I would bring up because I found it to be an underexplored and not much talked about aspect of their dynamic. To the point where I made a comic about it. And then It was confirmed in TPOT 10 so would you look at that There's a lot more I could say but It's bedtime for me soon. I wanna see what others think first! Cheers :D

Cheers OMGGG THIS COMIC IS SO CUTE yeah its literally crazy how they put this interaction in tpot 10. maybe the writers saw this and got inspired i feel like i was sort of unsure about winnerclock for a while, but after the most recent ep i'm way more positive to it again. i hope we see more of them eventually, i feel like they could really make a cute couple! clearly at least someone on the writing team liked the idea of them being closer too, since they went out of their way to keep clock from being proper-eliminated until their arc got a resolution XD

Ahah, sometimes I do wonder If that was the case. It's not exactly impossible ... either that or I just had a grasp on their relationship since Day 1. Either way I feel great about it x] And yeah, I feel like many weren't sure about them for a while. I personally got into the ship because I loved both characters individually and seeing their interactions in TPOT 1 kind of made it click naturally. I always saw their potential considering Clock really needed both a friend and someone to tell him to tone it down, considering how he acted in BFB. I'm soooo glad they kept him around to finish the arc. He's my second favorite character overall... I feel really lucky LOLLLL

Scuttling back to this thread to finally write more than just a few sentences. Time to explain why I got so attached to Winner x Clock. I was already quite drawn to both of them on their own. But the thing is, there was already a half a season (minus 5 episodes, poor thing) of screentime and for Clock. Lots of this is more Clock analysis than Winner but to be fair there is more of him haha... Clock never really had friends like some other characters do. He had his team but that's it. Most of his interactions outside of helping with challenges can be summed up to condemning how others act ( Liy/Teardrop in BFB 1, Stapy in BFB 10 during his elimination), snitching on them (The Exitors in BFB 10, same as prior), sticking to his own ideas and getting defensive about it, which just proves me he's not doing this to be malicious. He's merely someone who doesn't have other people to regulate this behaviour or tell him off in any way.
So on and so forth. No wonder he's such a loner. And no wonder his team forgot about him! Keep this in mind. So seeing that he found someone he actually got attached to in TPOT 1 was a fun way for his character to progress. With no actual prior friendships that mean anything PLUS his team forgetting about him, It makes sense he'd latch on the next best person he finds interesting in. Not only a celebrity he's a fan of but someone who parrallels his experience of being forgotten. It's in a way almost projection, consindering this wasn't something they bonded over and related to each other in a healthy way. This brings me back to my point where I pointed out that Clock kinda just sees himself and his ideas as correct without a second opinion to make him rethink anything. This is where Winner comes in. They're a kind, easy to get along with character, even when they get rightfully agitated It doesnt stay for long, as they always come back to helping their team over anything. Almost everything. They're not someone who can't speak up when their boundaries are violated. As early as TPOT 1 you can see them be uncomfortable with Clock's behaviour ( Teamnaming Scene) and this only keeps going on until TPOT 3 where they confronted him for pushing them to something they want nothing to do with ( Performing, being reminded of their past). This is the first time the way he acts seriously gave him a reason to reflect and apologize. We've only gotten slight bits of this prior (see earlier points) with his defensiveness. Many saw this as a reason why Winnerclock doesn't work but for me It was PERFECT. As much as I was screaming about it in a "Why Would You Do That" way (and because they were UFE) all signs pointed at more development for their characters. If they stayed that is. Which they did! Thank god. At this point I was still scared they'd mess up/don't conclude their arc but I was also rooting and hoping for them every episode. Of course I'd get more attached to them than I already was!! I would've even taken them not making up If It was done in a way beneficial to their characters/the story (like for example, If Clock got to move on and realize what he did wrong that would've been fine too. Could've been a "not everything works out how you want" moral of the story.) Inbetween this and the actual apology, Two came inbetween the two (lol) and kept Clock around despite his elimination in TPOT 7. Favoritism that is completely unfair to Winner as their feelings aren't being considered here. The scene where they got to lash out at Two in TPOT 8 was so satisfying to watch. Also adds onto Two learning that they can only do so much as a host. And this brings us to TPOT 10! The apology in which, just like my prediction, Clock WAS infact projecting his past experiences onto Winner. They now understood how they have similar past experiences. This ultimately helped both of them cope with it better and leave it behind. A lot of this feels... more obvious now that TPOT 10 is out. But with that, I feel like more people will understand the appeal now! Sure I could have a ship where it's mostly positive interactions, characters who are best friends so on and so forth and maybe If they had that, that would've been nice and all. Really through TPOT 2-9 I was always on the edge of what's gonna happen with them next. It could've gone sooo wrong BUT IT DIDN'T! Like this I can say that my OTP had a great arc :P Nothing is quite as satisfying as their apology and shared smile before Clock's elimination was. And therefore I think I'm gonna be stuck with them forever now LOL! LOVE THEM!!!
