true... i wonder if part of it is how negatively people view art reposts? since a lot of the art on boorus are posted by people other than the artist. i think theyre really important for archival purposes, though. and ive always loved how theyre basically a collaborative effort with everyone being able to edit tags to make sure everything is properly and thoroughlycategorized. or maybe it coincides with the death of forums since the two are pretty intertwined. especially with the similarities in how most forums AND most boorus are catered to a specific topic. the internets become so centralized to just a few social media platforms that people dont really see a need for boorus to exist when they have all the fanart they could want at the click of a button! they even have a fancy robot thingy that can give them more of that without even needing to look for it! gone are the days where you have to actually put in a small amount of effort to find what you want to see. its kinda sad, i hope forums and boorus never fully die off and people are still able to archive images and conversations for as long as we can
