I'm asking if you find that your favorite contestants in different object shows have some general qualities in common. This can be rooted in their competitive style, personality, type of object, or really anything else. If so, what are those qualities? I'll go first. :-P
I find that I gravitate towards characters who have a logical approach to competition/just in general (I wonder if that's a waste when one of the unique qualities of object shows is some degree of surrealism). In BFB and TPOT, Teardrop is a particularly well-implemented example of a character like this; she excels at even weird competitions in a very straightforward way, and in a way that makes scenes involving her entertaining to watch. This also makes her competitive choices a good catalyst for action in general (see TPOT 2).
OJ and Cabby are different examples of this kind of character. Neither of them demonstrate the extreme utility that Teardrop does, but both of them tend to make strategic decisions rooted in logic or empirical evidence (they do this at large, but to get specific: for OJ, see II S1E16, and for Cabby, see II S3E5), and will consistently operate with the simple intention of winning a challenge, rarely sidetracked in the way that other characters are by random/individual items.
There are also characters who I came to enjoy more as they came to exhibit these characteristics more strongly than they did previously. I actively disliked Taco in II S1, but I liked her a lot in S2. Microphone and Knife both grew on me in the latter part of S2, where they started being defined less by single personality traits (being outspoken and a "jerk," respectively) and more by their strategy.
I also have a sort of secondary preference for characters who are just kind of assholes. "Kind of" is doing a lot of lifting here. I don't know how to get precise about this one, but think about characters like Flower (before her turnaround in BFB), Blocky, etc. These characters aren't all exactly mean, but they do all prioritize themselves/the thing they like to do/etc. over the success and well-being of other characters in a specifically comedic fashion. It's worth noting that this one is really subjective, because it doesn't work on me at all when the character isn't comedic. Yin-Yang is like this, but I don't think they're funny whatsoever, so I don't like them. Fan is like this, but has increasingly been written in a very peculiar fashion such that you're supposed to think of him as well-meaning and amicable regardless, so I don't like him [anymore]. Make of it what you will.

I tend to like the mysterious, ominous ones. But not in the way that they're explicitly eldritch looking, just normal objects with A Vibe to them There was a character uniquely like that in a webcomic that I adored but I do not want to speak of it anymore Also, I like cute, endearing characters! Like Naily for example And evil women

usually my favs are nice and silly (gelatin, bottle, ruby come 2 mind) but theres also times where i get attached to characters that are. grumpy old men pretty much (fries, sb,this ones really specific but anthony from LAF too i mean just look at him) also . not grumpy old men but i do see also see blokes like loser , tree , spongy (etc) being older guys too (i feel like that just adds a little more sauce to them + it fits their personalities better in my mind? does this make sense XD?)
but yeah if ur object character is a gay old man orrr some kind of freaky freak ill bite them (thats the TLDR )

Perhaps a Little Bit of a Bummer But I Like When Characters are Just Kind of Fucked Narratively. Characters Like Liam from One, Suitcase from ii, or Neon Sign from TPoS Where Every Option They're Faced With Sucks are Super Interesting to Watch. A Series Can Sucker Me In Super Easily if It Has an Interesting Character Spiral.

When it comes to story, I generally gravitate towards characters that are outcasted, bullied or forgotten in some way (Hi Clock Hi Spongy. Hi Winner to a lesser extent).
Personality wise, there's many archetypes I like. I guess Gelatin is the best example of what I see in my usual type. Funny, chaotic, impulsive. Kind of annoying but fun to be around otherwise. Also nerds but object shows kind lack in nerds that I actually got really attached to lol (except for Clock If you squint, even If he doesn't fit it in the most traditional way).
Speaking of, I really love Clock characters in general. There's just too many wonderful types you can make!! I'm also a huge fan of medical objects, but I can see why those are a less popular choice haha.

hmmm..... Not really! I kinda just like which ever guy is the most entertaining, story or humor wise.
I generally gravitate more towards character dynamics than one character by themselves (ie, basketball and robot flower). But come to think of it, I like a handful of characters that are similar to four in early bfb. guys like clock ITFT, animatic battle exclamation mark, happy star. I guess because that's like a character archetype I've seen that's seemingly exclusive to object show media. they're fun (in moderation, of course)

The thing you said about character dynamics is exactly it for me too, I forgot to say that in my own reply. I would not be into my faves as much as I am now If I didn't get to dissect them with another guy.

Looking at it now... Personality wise, they are drastically different from one another, but one thing that they all have in common is that they're pretty darn unlucky. Either nothing goes right for them or they inadvertently make things worse. Or both. I find their lack of luck to be pretty entertaining, comedy or otherwise. >:]
