stickfigures in object shows!

BFDIA 11 spoilers (?)

first, we must define what a stickfigure is. there are many forms, not all even featuring sticks (called circleheads..? sometimes.), so i'll just say "a simplified depiction/representation of something." in some cases, i'd consider object characters to be a part of this clique. 

the first object show stickfigure is david. he only says "aw seriously," and moves by pole vaulting (not sure how to say it. Trust me though.) recently he has started to say more words but mostly it is "as seriously." he isn't very fleshed out as a character, but he's still charming CUTE and COOL and it's not really important. i think his depiction is a nice starting point, as it really does showcase the core meaning of stickfigure. that isn't to say it's a bad thing; but stickfigures are meant to be simple, often as "starting drawings" or bases of sketches. even if the creators were not aware of it at the time, it is fun for me to think about. this is my stickfigure trope!

there are a lot of davidians in davidland; they act as a little ocean (or hivemind?) of sorts. they get mad whenever you irritate them and scream. our david, along with dora, seems separate from them for whatever reason. flower might be related to them as well, as seen with her petal fashion and hinted at in BFDIA. another thing is how they are referred to as humans sometimes, even though no one knows what they are. (they appeared in bfdia 11 as an april fools actually. TECHNICALLY there was no not-canon floating around anywhere.. New and debatable!)

DORA is really cool too. she had a redesign so they could sell a book. she's also a planet eater! that being said, she's a lot stronger than david, so she's more akin to your average stickfigure. dora makes beeps whenever she talks, which are translated in the subtitles. she also talks a lot more than david, but she was voted out in both competitions she appeared in (and stayed in the EXIT), so we haven't seen as much of her. she has a lot of cool fanart. SHOUT OUTS to dora. first bfdi stickfigure with hair (if we are not counting flower.)

something really interesting happened in bfb with dora running up the stairs. they've never walked before so it was CRAZY. but that is the most of movement for stickfigures in bfdi. there are of course, other shows! such as Battle For Something Else. AND THERE WAS one object show that had a cgp grey stickfigure which was a really funny concept.

BRINGING THIS BACK AROUND: stickfigures in object shows are like a different beast to me than in their stickfight forms. they tend to differentiate from objects in interesting ways, even though they are quite similar in origin. they feel about competing the same way other stickfigures do about fighting. death is very prominent in both and are often started by kids. object shows are really the first things that made me start thinking about stickfigures this way, even after playing henry stickmin. i grow to appreciate them everyday. the humble stickfigure, a universal language and powerful storytelling tool!

i guess i don't really remember as many object show stickfigures as i wanted to BUT they deserve appreciation in their own right. TELL ME ABOUT THEM!!! Stickfiguarrrrr O+<
