Hi!! so I'm not a freshly laden babe or anything when it comes to object shows, but I'm definitely not in deep by any means!! I wouldn't even consider myself necessarily part of the osc just yet, besides being in this forum right here. so I just wanna ask, do y'all have any shows you'd like to recommend? and why?
object shows I like so far and am invested in are II, BFDI, hfjone, love of the s*n and tts!
I'm mainly interested in ways in which different object shows decidedly take the genre, whether by being foundational (BFDI/II) or bending it around (hfjone), if you need a bit of a pointer, which is to say I'd love to be recommended literally anything you like haha, for whatever reason you like it :3 thank u!

Big fan of titletext, it's been on my mind ever since I've watched it. I love media that reveres the seemingly mundane and boring, and titletext does this perfectly. The way the characters interact with each other is very sweet, all of their dialogue is very dry but you can tell they all care for each other. Towel and Printer are my two favourites :-) It only has two episodes so far, but if you're at all into slice of life I'd 100% give it a watch

One of the shows I'm most excited about as of late is ION (Investigation of Object Nuclearity). So far It only has 2 episodes, with the 3rd one coming very soon! It's an object show in the most basic sense of the word - a show with objects. There's no competitions or eliminations whatsoever in ION. It's about the three main characters Cracklin Chief and Sylvia who found themselves in a destroyed nuclear power plant and with no memories of how they ended up in that position. ION is more heavy on building a story and focuses on character interactions & dynamics more than anything and It delivers in that regard, I can watch these characters interact all day. Outside of that, It's one of the most visually appealing (subjectively) and distinct (objectively) object shows I've seen in a while. Hel does an amazing job at building a proper athmosphere and you can tell how much love he puts into the environments and their details alone. It helps that the topic of the show centers the creator's special interest which is Nuclear physics and you can really tell. I just love seeing projects that ooze with passion through and through.

every object show to come out of russia has been some of the best shit ive seen in my entire life. i would kill my firstborn son to get CFMOT back and i would kill my secondborn son for SFAIM to have a 3rd episode. ATCOE is really really good i hope the actual 1st season slaps as hard as the prelude, UOCCG is ass but like kinda wacky so it gets a 6/10. BZTZ is actually not that racist if you think about it

seconding ION, SFAIM, and ATCOE, i love all those <3 i talked about this in another thread but i would say some of the best shows you can watch right now are: Team Room 125 - this show doesn't really take itself seriously at all, but if you're in it for clever jokes more than anything else then it'll definitely be up your alley Animatic Battle - this show isn't as thought-out as TR125 but its still pretty funny. somehow more ADHD despite the characters talking slower? Bean's Show - this show is also very joke-oriented, but it has way better character work than either of the previous ones. i genuinely like the story they're telling, i like Bean, i think it's fun! It's Time For The - i can't believe i forgot to include this show on that other post! just goes to show how many good recent shows there are. ITFT is kind of a more grounded version of the other shows above it here. it seems to abide by more rules, if that makes sense. also seemingly has weird lore in the background? i'm sure some of you care about weird lore. NUMBERS - kind of a pivot here, NUMBERS is very slow-paced and relaxing, and the characters tend to act a bit more human. it's very reminiscent of OFA, which is a great model to follow imo. you might also like the creator's previous show, The Perfect Object Show, which Pony would be recommending right now if i hadn't beat her to it. Battle for Rice^n - speaking of stuff that's reminiscent of old BFB-era shows, how could i forget BFR^n? this show is made by the person who directed all of the best parts of BFB and early TPOT, and by that metric. it's severely underrated. it's not very long yet, but DEFINITELY give it a watch.

First, I'll recommend what comes to mind: Paper Puppets. Specifically the season season, Paper Puppets Take 2.
Watching the first season isn't required to understand Take 2. Most of the allusions are either easter eggs or mentions vague enough for you to go "oh, I guess their history was like that". There's a certain element in the show from season 1 that might throw off new viewers. I can't say what, but you don't need to know much from season 1 to know the deal of said element. If your confused, I can clear it up if you get to THAT part.
Just some warnings in advance: It takes quite a bit for the show to pick up. You see, Paper Puppets is one of the older object shows, and the second season in particular started when the creator was a teenager. The first 3 episodes are very slow, but they do set up things that will be expanded upon going forward. The show starts to pick up after those 3 episodes.
General Content Warnings include: REALLY loud noises(bass boosted sound in episode 2, various sudden noises throughout episode 3, and a really loud outtake in one scene in episode 4) and Unreality(debatably episode 7, one part at the end of episode 12). There is discussions of abuse, but it's not too heavy. Just putting that out there though.
It starts off as an okay competition show, but it does have plenty of amusing moments... Being part comedy and all. It gets much better in regards of the characters later on. Various elements get expanded upon and have lasting ramifications for the characters and story... Making most of the smaller, underwhelming or weaker elements pay off.
I see you enjoy Inanimate Insanity, so you might like this one as well! (especially if you like II2) ^^

oh yeah, definitely seconding PPT2. i'd it picks up really fast compared to some shows of its length (i'd certainly recommend it over EEE in that regard, lol) and it's got a lot of standout characters imo

hehe i love recommending shows there r so many underrated ones out there...
i'm surprised nobody's mentioned cast 139 yet! it's got slower, more casual pacing and genuine character interactions but there's also a bit of a mystery/sci-fi(?) element. there's only one episode out so far so theres not much to say yet, but i'm really interested to see where it'll go from here!
another fav of mine is walk cycle's epic blender or WEB. it's heavily inspired by sacri's shows (primarily the animation but you can feel the influence in the writing too,) but the host is more like a pre-split four. to me it really hearkens back to the pre-bfb era of shows that were made by kids who were inspired to make their own silly little shows just for the fun of it. it's really weird and silly and is definitely building up to some sort of wild lore. which i love to see :3
and speaking of wild lore... my second ever object show, object dreamscape!! probably my cheesiest fav. it is all over the place and super confusing but i cannot help but love it. interdimensional travel, sick fight scenes (animated in flipaclip!!) and a host with a lot to hide. like a lot. also references to various video games everywhere. there is so much going on, lots of lore and mystery. it is far from perfect, but that won't stop me from obsessing heheee
and there's one more i really like, community venture! i saw someone here already recommended titletext, which is one of my all time favs, and this one has the same 'just objects hanging out' vibe, though in a much different style. it's super cozy and lighthearted. and there's gay people in there too which never hurts. two episodes out rn if you count the pilot!

OH YEAH! The Unusual Battle re-reboot! I would have recommended that, but I wanted to hold out for more episodes. You know how it is with these shows. It is a step up from UB so far, and the presentation is beautiful and befitting of it's nature.

It May Be Nostalgia Poisoning But the Style and Animation is Very Nice So Might as Well!

i've also been holding out for more cast 139 episodes before recommending it... i loved UB during its original run but the flakiness of the various revivals has made me wary
