heyhi! i'm probably most active in object camp circles/have been for the past year and it's been a blast! i wanna recommend a few of my favorite camp characters from the camp that i'm in, and an estimated watch/read time for them + a summary of the character. a lot of the character's stories are also closely intertwined with other characters in their entries, so if you're interested, i'd recommend checking out the camp!
ELECTRIC REMAINS: [NOTE: joining the discord is optional! you can read most everyone's entries from their masterdocs, most masterdocs can be accessed here!] ER is a YK2 themed story-based camp where contestants are killed when eliminated. it takes place an unspecified amount of time after nuclear fallout killed all of humanity. objects evolved from objects+radiation. there's no magic allowed in the setting, but fucked up science fiction is okay. ER takes place in a nuclear winter, most objects are starving or barely surviving. the contestants are competing for a chance at a "safe space"
A lot of the contestants have heavy themes! but the contestants will have CWs for their themes before the entries.
I'm only gonna be recommending characters who have finished their stories already! i feel like thats a good point to start off at least.

-skater and a purple spray can
-entries are best experienced with headphones on
-intentionally written DID representation
-MSPFA formatted entries
-read time takes 2-3ish hours, i wanna say? but i'd probably spend a bit more time on him
-really pretty entries, iterator has a really fun style when it came to the entries! theres a few 3d modeled character sections as well that are done phenomenally.
Phyllis by Arthur
-sillyband in the shape of a horse
-Another system character!
-really really underrated entries, that i think are really worth checking out!
-most entries are comics formatted in google docs/google slides, a few are comics in imgur. (NOTE: THERE IS 1 VISUAL NOVEL, but it is not very long, and is a collaboration with another competitor)
-Probably takes 3 hours to read through completely?
-probably the most writing based entries out of the characters here, but i think they're absolutely worth the read
-entries kind of punch you in the gut once you sit back and digest them a bit. id recommend reading VCR alongside petal, but i don't think its as necessary as the next trio of characters. (VCR ENTRIES ARE ALSO PHENOMINAL. i didn't recommend them here because she's still competing tho :])
DNE by Gh0stT0ast
-Do Not Enter sign!
-entries are usually short (5-10 min) videos, though there are some comics. a few intermissions as well
-story closely intertwined with daisy bell, honestly, id recommend reading their entries simultaneously (Alongside Poppy's Meeba!) to get the full picture. Reading/watching all three of the entries together should only take 2-3 hours, I think... maybe 4 at most.
-read time for DNE alone is probably less than 2 hours if you watch the videos back to back. most of the videos are only 2 hours, and the comics are pretty short and concise!
-really phenomenal writing, really emotional entries. i think of the three i get most of the emotional hits from the DNE entries, though Daisy and Meeba are also really really good at this.
speaking of..
Daisy Bell by Jeakkers/Mumpsetc
-old pc with daisies growing inside of her
-entries are mostly videos and comics
-story closely connected to DNE's story, again, recommend reading them together.
-i'd say she takes about 40 minutes to read through? if you're really processing everything? again, most of the video are less than 5 minutes
-really really pretty entries, harmie probably did the best at the webcore theming. literal eyecandy
(Not to say everyone else's entries aren't great! these are just some of the ones i think are easiest to jump into + have enough story to really sink your teeth into. a good starting point, i think, but i'd really recommend reading everyone's entries. also hi electric remains fans here. if i missed anyone or if theres anything you wanna add go ahead :])
