I found this forum the other day browsing through the proboards directory and was so surprised to see an object show forum!! I was also intrigued by it being for only members 18+ since most shows tend to have a young audience (I was underage myself when I started watching BFB so long ago...). I've since kept up with BFB and TPOT occasionally but I haven't considered myself a fan or interacted with the fandom in forever since then, but object shows in general have only seemed to grow and grow since then which makes me happy still! It makes me curious about the people on this forum and how they keep up with the shows and how long they've been a fan for, so this is my introduction.
The very first time i had EVER come across anything OSC related was on a now inactive social media, posted by a random person whose profile i had just been happening to look through. They had posted a clip of BFB (the first 20 seconds of BFB 11: Get to the Top in 500 Steps (so like... early June 2018 probbaly (wow!! almost six years already!! @_@)) as i think it had just come out within the week, and they had been nonstop posting about Liy. I was intrigued by the style of animation and immediately looked it up and binged the entirety of the show from BFDI 1 up until BFB11 in about two days i think lol. When I had seen that clip I thought that Liy was the main character or something, so all throughout BFDI and BFDIA I was waiting for her to show up and be the fan favorite, but I was extremely surprised to see that she was only in BFB for a few episodes and there were waaaaay less fans of her than i imagined  LMAO i think that person who posted the clip was just her biggest fan. Also it was so cruel how I got so into BFB right before the 2018 hiatus  at least i got to witness the release of episode 12 and the hiatus was only for about a year i believe, but it still hurt lol
anyways sorry for the blocks of text, I'm curious about everyone's perspectives and first impressions for their fav object shows. When I had tried to search for fans of BFB in 2018 i was met with some rolling tumbleweeds and about 5 community fanartists (at least on tumblr and instagram), and i was still considered late to the party and a new fan lol. I haven't delved into much of the fandom since about 2020 but it's gotten big enough to where I see people with OSC pfps on twitter pop up on my timeline and i always make this face  and point lol.
Please add onto this thread with how you found whichever object show you started watching and when if you'd like, I'd love to see it :D I can't say I'll be super active on here but i will check in every now and then and just read stuff from others ^^

I found out about BFDI because someone asked me if I had watched it in an old Q&A I did in 2017. They managed to get me hooked on BFDI in the middle of a vacation, and it was a few months before BFB dropped too! I was there just before the IDFB hiatus ended and that might have actually been the best time to join in.

when i was 15 i went to a friend's house to hang out and while we were there we decided to watch some youtube together. at first we were binging Clone High but after that was done she decided to turn on an episode of BFB (she also let me cuddle her Firey plush. lol) and from then i was hooked

I found out about BFDI because someone asked me if I had watched it in an old Q&A I did in 2017. They managed to get me hooked on BFDI in the middle of a vacation, and it was a few months before BFB dropped too! I was there just before the IDFB hiatus ended and that might have actually been the best time to join in. wow that really does sound lucky lol i can't even imagine the hype the day it returned after so so long... gotta be one of the best feelings ever |

the earliest kinda memories of any object show was inanimate insanity, i feel like ive def seen a bit of BFDI/BFDIA but the first time i actually WATCHED at least 1 episode it was of ii2. its funny cuz i didn't even bother going back to season 1 for a while XD until i watched it years later with my buds. but YEAH i watched ii2 up until episode 12/13? i don't really remember much from this because i dont even know what year i watched it ! lol but i know little-me loved lightbulb HAH (i still love her now ofc, even if im not an ii fan)
from then on i didn't really interact much with object show stuff until around 2017 when BFB came out! i remember drawing four forrr one of my internet buddies, i think i also watched a bit of the first ep? i feel like i might've but honestly i don't remember much from then 
and thennn this all goes to 2020 when i watched the court case ep of BFB since i saw they uploaded a new episode and i was like hey! i know this show lemme see how it is! and i enjoyed it quite a bit even tho i was def missing out on the previous episodes, so then fast-forward to early 2021 (around febuary) and i couldnt stop thinking about BFB sooo i decided to just. rewatch it all! BFDI-BFDIA-IDFB so on so forth AND I GOT HOOOKED!!! i remember not long after the finale came out...and yeah my thoughts have def changed a bit over time it was still so cool to see that drop!!
since then i have always been a BFDI-head hehehea

I technically watched a bit of II season 1 in 2017 because of my mutual really being into it. Said mutual made camp murder if anyone remembers that? I was just amazed by her cool gijinkas and other fanart. But I didn't get far at all... which I don't think you can blame me for haha!
Adding onto the nate above me, I witnessed xer BFDI posting happen in real time in early 2021 but I wasn't super interested at first. I did love xer gijinkas a lot and drew them regardless, which I guess you can count as my first step into getting into it. But the last straw of how I got into it was kind of ridiculous because It was esentially something like:
My buddy goon sent a video that had the fireoiny sextape audio in it as the punchline (sorry) -> I was like "What is this" and found the audio on soundcloud -> I got BFDI songs recommended on my soundcloud, one being Message to Loser -> I was really enamoured by Four and I was like god... Maybe I do have to check this out. And Nate took this as an opportunity to make me watch BFB. Cake was the other character I also REALLY wanted to see so I gotta mention him too.
Thank you Four, he is not even my favorite character at All anymore but I'm definitely not the only person who was drawn in by his strange behaviours LOL!!!

I used to be active on Scratch back in 2014(the BFDIA 6 hiatus days). There, I found a small but dedicated community who loved Object Shows. Out of curiosity I decided to check it out.
Fun Fact: The creator of Brawl of the Objects started out on that site. Some of what he made there became very popular. I think a lot of his projects were actually on display in a YTPMV made by JNJ.

i was deviantart friends with somebody and they sent me BFDI Is Back on skype one day. i remember being really confused as to why more of the show didnt look like that. i think this was either very early 2017 or like, right before.

i cant remember when i first saw ii stuff, it was obviously in relation to bfdi at the time but i'm pretty sure i watched the first two seasons at some point...? I love lightbulb so much too, even though i wasnt as into it as i was bfb at the time i would still draw lightbulb cause i was so inspired by the other artists in the community *_* ii fans are incredible artists and animators I also saw that court case episode even when i was at a point where i wasnt interested much in the show anymore LOL. watching a bfb episode drop in real time is so exciting, i still remember being in the kitchen making lunch when bfb12 dropped |

Four is a really peculiar and appealing character which peaks peoples interests in him definitely, and i think he's grown on me more over the years honestly. the hosts being so vastly different from the contestants, so much so that it feels like they're from entirely different universes with different rules (which they might even be), really set a tone change for bfb imo and played into really interesting character dynamics. that's such a goofy way to get into the show half-related, but i really love the official BFB OST and even the remixes made by jacknjellify and used to listen to them on soundcloud on long car rides |
