So.. Anyone who has seen Yellow's Twitter and Tumblr knows that he has been teasing a couple of some sorts for Take 2. The clues seem to point to Ukuwrap. Assuming it will even BE Ukuwrap though... HOW is Yellow going to implement that? We have seven episodes left in the series. I know that Yellow intends on conveying it in the show itself, if his thoughts here are any indication. My guess is that Ukulele opens the letter and the two get together after Ukulele gets out, scene and everything. And maybe from that point onward we'll see how their relationship goes? I dunno... I'm indifferent to the ship and more focused on Ukulele's arc, but I just want to know how this is even going to be pulled off with how little time there is left. I have my doubts, if I'm being honest here. At least Ukulele is currently doing something outside of Bubble Wrap. For most of the season, it felt she only really existed to progress Bubble Wrap's arc. It was acceptable at the time, but if she was going to make it farther, she would either have to get a sendoff or character development. So... There's that.

What happened to Open Source Objects anyway? It used to be such a big deal back in 2019, but these days it updates pretty slowly... And most people don't regard it that highly even with the concept. I get that, it is kind of boring. I also understand that object shows in general take a while to make, but I'm surprised that's the case with the show whose gimmick is that everyone can help out. Everyone Who Made OSO Worthwhile Left the OSC or Got Busy With Their Own Projects. Just Off the Top of My Head, Satomi, CheesyHfj, LorenTzel, Dunkel Blau, ETC Have All Gotten Busy or Gone Elsewhere or Disappeared. Doesn't Help OSO Has a Huge Cast With Maybe 5 Personalities to Share Between Them, I Heard the Writing Was Also Open Source and That Is a Mistake I Think. It's Funny to Compare Oso Now to When It First Hit the Scene and Was Kinda Being Propped Up as the Third Big Show.

It had a channel for it the last time I've been on the server, though I don't remember seeing any alphas. Also keep in mind OSO went through a few controversies with major contributors, such as the composer for the first OSO theme song and whoever recommended Glowing Heart and so on. Then people started to bash on the Twitter account for some reason. It didn't directly contribute to the inactivity of OSO but it certainly hurt its reputation.

I tend to avoid discourse the best I can, and I barely hung around OSC spaces even when I had Twitter. For all of my 10 years, the OSC was just something I saw on the side. I had no idea any of this happened. :[

Seeing OSO go from being one of the most discussed non BFDI/II shows to barely getting a passing mention over the span of a few years was staggering. It's not uncommon for things to lose popularity over time, I've seen it happen with object shows and other media. I just assumed that a show like OSO would having more of a lasting appeal. As you said before, it isn't the most exciting show. But I figured people were more than eager to work on a show that encouraged it.

This comes from someone who draws lots of characters with eyelashes, but I've never really been a big fan of using eyelashes as a binary gender marker. Not just in object shows, but in general. I admit I still don't get what exactly is gender related about them. I suppose it's something makeup related but also... Everyone in real life has eyelashes?? Its something to look back on because I remember back then object shows would try to do so because viewers would get confused at the characters sounding different regardless of gender. It was this whole deal. I get society has these biases that get ingrained into people so I won't hold it against them too much. Especially since some of those object shows phased out or changed it so it's more based on personality. With that being said... Uhhhhh... Give eyelashes to the guys and non-binary object show characters. I KNOW there was this one character... But I forgot the name of that object show... It was about fairy tales? There might have been another show, but I don't have the best memory. EDIT: It was Object Legends!

I haven't seen TPOT or post-split, but I will say I'm glad that Teardrop is doing more in them. I was one of those people who noticed that she had a personality that was NOTHING like the one she had in fanon. If you saw any Teardrop gijinka in 2011-17, you know what I mean. Some people REALLY wanted her to talk more than anything?? Ableism aside, there are more ways to convey personality that isn't words. Especially if you have a visual medium.

I say this a lot but man... Team ? was robbed. The reason you see more people who like the other teams is because up until the merge, the show never really gave the audience a reason to care for them in the long term. I understand that a team had to lose in order to progress Team 47's plot, and this show has been going on for nearly a DECADE now. They are OK characters, they just have the least involvement in the plot and end up getting outclassed by everyone else. Team H had a rocky start, but it not only had comic relief in the form of Knight Helmet, but a plotline involving Glass Shard and Flashlight. Not to mention both Plasma Ball and Knight Helmet end up getting character development in "Picture Perfect", a wham episode that has a major impact on all 3 teams. Let's see Team ?'s members: It seems to be a popular opinion that Ace got it the worst. He's a case of giving a characters powers in a competition show but not knowing how to work with it. It's pretty common in object shows. I hate III, but I'll give it props for Clover's luck being built around the events without needing to shaft her. It's a powerful force sure, but it's not an automatic win button, and it sometimes results in ways that are less than pleasant. For most of the season, Bottle was there to provide emotional support or help others with their problems. This was fine given the bigger cast at the time, but as the numbers dwindled, it was clear that she would either need to get a send-off or character development. I'm completely fine with her development, even if I do have my concerns about her alliance and what it means for Treasure Chest, a character who had the most impact on the story. Brick is just plain unlucky. He ended up placing dead last by the end of last season, and his performance here was only marginally better. As he pointed out, Pan did far worse in the challenge while Brick actually helped the team through most of the obstacles. Most people now would end up considering him redundant anyway with Plasma Ball becoming a prominent character who also has anger issues. It's worth noting while the characters in these comparisons DO have their differences, it's clear that one had their story or traits more fleshed out than the other. Cup is a late addition, so I don't think he really counts for this conversation. I will say that his personality is enough to stand on it's own even without the comic relief. It's simple, but it works. His unluckiness does have the potential to be used in various ways without it getting old. My only complaint about him is how he's used in the show's more serious moments. He's visibly sad whenever he gets scolded (ala "Living on the Edge" and "A Rotten Egg"), yet whenever the elimination rolls around he just dons a poker face. I wouldn't have an issue if it was established that he has difficulty expressing himself. However, what we're shown is contrary to that. Globe is pretty much the definition of middle of the road. Everything he's done, the other captains have done better. Comic relief? Chainsaw provides plenty of that, both with teammates and on his own. Plot involving his worries making things worse for the team? A lot of the show's events is because of Treasure Chest and his inability to lead a team properly. Fun banter with contestants? Caramel Cube doesn't have much on her own, but she does provide a fun dynamic by being the more grounded one to Plasma Ball and Knight Helmet's antics. It doesn't help that his plotline got cut short due to viewer voting anyway. Apparently he's unpopular enough to be on the lower tiers on most lists. I guess I can see why? Milk is also another case. She is one of the first characters with a known backstory that explains her dour self-esteem. Thing is, all of that explained in episode 2. While it is a required episode, it isn't anyone's favorite. Not even Yellow himself liked what he did for her there(I'll link the source when I can). Bubble Wrap's story revolves around her learning to manager her anxiety and stand up for herself. While Milk learns to feel more better about herself in episode 2, Bubble Wrap has a whole arc spanning several episodes. Starting in episode 3, which is much more favored of the 3 introduction episodes. We do get to learn more about Milk's personality in later episodes... But that's in the form of two episodes later in the early game. In between them and episode 2, she doesn't really do much, sadly. Pan is pretty much your typical "LOL randomness!!" comic relief character. He doesn't have much depth to him, but I find that fine for the same reasons as Bottle. Not to mention Cup exists as a more versatile comic relief. He never overstays his welcome whenever he shows up, which I do appreciate. Given his archetype, he's either a "love it or hate it" character. Not everyone will find him funny. Oh, where do I even start with Post-It Note? I've already talked about him at length here. Bias aside, I do have to admit he suffers from the fact that his character and story is retroactively enhanced in the merge. I'm glad that he kept the edge he had in earlier episodes, but if you watched while there were 9-11 episodes, you would think the show made him too soft. That's the thing. While newer fans would likely notice these details and appreciate Post-It Note and Bottle as characters, longer time fans would feel as if their earlier contributions didn't amount to much and gravitate towards the more interesting or entertaining characters. That said, I do stand by my opinion that Post-It Note is a well written character who is sorely overlooked. I just find that there are understandable reasons to overlook him. Not everyone can handle a cast with over 20 characters, especially if your a novice writer. I'm fine with casts as big as these having more one-dimensional characters. I just wish that Team ? got a better chance to stand out more on it's own with the limited time it had.

Opinions tend to vary between those who consumed a piece of media as it came out VS after it finished. As much as I don't like interacting with fan-bases, I am very curious to see what the dissonance is among object shows as someone who tends to be in the former group. For instance, Leafy used to be my number 1 favorite character, but that changed as the series progressed and began using her character in ways I didn't find compelling or fun. And don't get me started on BOOK. It's better I spare you all of my experiences with that arc. All I'll say is that it was the reason I kept watching BFB. I have opinions regarding other shows... But I also can't state those experiences for personal reasons. ;;;;

I'm still not sold on the Treasure Chest/Bottle alliance. I think it has some potential, but so far there hasn't really been anything of substance. Beyond some banter, we haven't really seen how this affects both characters besides common ground and maybe morale. If Treasure Chest gets out next episode, I'll be miffed because it will not only be a waste of a character, but a whole plotline as well. I'm not optimistic about this considering a certain other 2-person alliance.
Like.... Is the alliance going to push Treasure Chest to being more understanding of other people? How will they both cope with the realization that Chainsaw can't be talked down to?? Will they agree on how to approach the Brackets, or will they clash because of it?? WILL THE SABOTAGE OF TEAM 47 EVEN BE ADDRESSED?? AT ALL??? Something could be said about the game and how sabotaging others is necessary to progress. While the game has brought out the best of people such as Knight Helmet, the misfortune it's caused has shown it's more trouble than what it's worth. Seriously, bringing down the 47s was such a big plot point in early episodes and it's just weird how the contestants are acting like nothing happened. When it should be more relevant than ever because now the renegades are EVERYONE'S problem. Buuut I digress.
....I'm not sure what Bottle can learn from Treasure Chest though. They both have a strong sense of doing what's right... Bottle is more experienced, but it's clear that with the right circumstances she can struggle as much as Treasure Chest. Obviously, their motivations and personalities are different, I'm just not too sure on how Treasure Chest would influence Bottle, positive or negative. I mean... He is way worse at managing people problems, let alone unexpected ones. Yeah, it feels too early to even figure out what dynamic this is going for. :/

I Feel Like the OSC Has Kinda Backslid in Regards to This W/ How Degendered BFDI Was :[ Wait, really? I don't know her other newer work besides Burner, which didn't give lashes to all of her female characters. I checked out after OBS got canned, so I'm out of the loop. I agree it's definitely an issue, though.
Eyelashes have been a debate for a long time now... I saw a few shows backslide into it, but I'm not sure how big this regression really is. It's sad, but not shocking considering I've seen some people who make a big deal out of... Certain people's voices. Also again, I can't really hold it against most people that much because I feel doing so in the wrong way would contribute to the hostility of the community. Which I'm sick of by now.

I think one of the other things I forget as a long time fan is the possibility of most people not knowing what Object Universe or Object Overload could be... Maybe even Brawl of the Objects?? Object Mayhem I kind of get as the creator hasn't been around for years, but the creators of the other 2-3 seem to be more active. I wonder how people now would feel about OU Map... Or Ice Cream.. Map was such a big meme/fan favorite back in the day... SHOWVEMBER even references the "Map shows up in other object shows" sthick. (it is a friend show so I suppose the people working on it would get the joke)
It's a shame that most of Object Universe's endings seem to be lost to time. :[
Also... Does anyone remember this genre of fanart that features overly detailed versions of object show characters with sparkly eye designs??? I remember one of the Powerpoint show makers was a part of the trend, but I forgot what the term was called. There were elaborate eyelash designs too.
