I have already said this before in another post... I don't know how contentious this take is but... I don't think we should solely blame kids for mean characters getting eliminated. Sometimes... Mean characters just aren't well written. Like any other archetype this genre has tackled. If a mean character is constantly being destructive or mean without any nuance, entertainment or signs of getting an arc, they can get old very quickly.
An old school example would be Lighter from Object Overload. For his run in the original, all he did was kill people, be a jerk and not much else. His most compelling trait(being an old friend of Tissue who grew abusive over time) wasn't even shown until after he got out. (God, I really hope the re-reboot tries to implement that better if Xany ever revisits it.)
A more recent example is Notebook from Obsolete Battle Show. Listen... I love Notebook... But he just isn't very good. Most of his time was spent just being a jerk to Cup. Not much else. I WOULD be upset at the fact that they got out just as soon as they were getting development... Buuut that episode also did nothing with it after the first few minutes....? I dunno, it didn't really make up for seasons worth of Notebook doing nothing. Like OO, I'll give Sacri some slack given her age while making this.
Obviously if the mean character has more to them or is at the middle of an arc, then it would be understandable. I get that a show without conflict is boring, but sometimes being mean doesn't automatically make you good or fun. Sometimes they're just annoying regardless of your age.

Soooo.... Object Invasion is coming back? I don't have much of an opinion on anything Fusion makes, but I am somewhat curious given that the BFDIA Hiatus era was an era nobody looked fondly of. Most OSC members weren't even there.. Speaking as someone who WAS around that time... Remember when certain shows were getting rebooted nearly a decade back? And most of them got cancelled? With Fusion and a few others now working on the big 2(and a lot of other projects), I just wonder if this, Cast 139 and Object Overload intend on finishing to the end. I'd understand if they don't, it's just really funny in hindsight. :P

If there's one takeaway I have from rewatching pre-split BFB, it's that I wish we had more time with the 0 plot? As someone who watched these episodes in real time, I get that the episodes took longer to make, I just feel like bringing back 4 shouldn't have been the solution to all of the problems. Maybe we can solve the issue of certain characters being dead by having either X or Donut hone in on their powers? Four could still come back in the end. I don't know... I thought they were going for an arc where X learns to be more confident and proves himself.. But I guess not?? Apparently post-split did it, but I'm just not interested in that. It's just surprising given pre-split's focus on character development and arcs. It's a common issue in these shows, and again I wouldn't be surprised if that was partially because of BFB and II2.

So I've seen that there's debate on whether or not the OSC should stay niche or not. I find this funny given that from what I can tell, the general absurdity of the shows(combined with most of them starting out when the creators were kids) means that the OSC is naturally pretty niche. That's not getting into the fact that you have to watch 2 shows if you want to get into literally every other show. I do understand why people are concerned with the idea of the OSC going mainstream, I just think that it's unlikely to really happen any time soon. Not everyone will get the appeal, and that's fine.

I'm indifferent to Take 2 not carrying over every story element from season 1, seeing as it would be too late to do it now and it would only really benefit about 3-4 characters. That said, it WOULD actually make Gold Ingot even worse of a person. If you thought the cruel labor, kidnapping and leaving people to fend for themselves in an abandoned laboratory was bad, Gold Ingot was a considerably worse person in season 1. His actions went from encouraging bullying, death threats, wanting to use his contestants as meat shields to killing a dozen people. The only people he showed some semblance of kindness towards was his boss and MR. HAND, and we know how the latter went. Granted, it was back when hosts didn't have any depth and the show was just a zany live action show, but the thing that makes Gold Ingot stand out was that the contestants in season 1 were initially written as high schoolers(hence the prom stuff in Culinary Catastrophe). Of those actions, the only thing that carried over was Gold Ingot being a dick to Post-It Note, and even that got dropped over time. I guess with all of that and Yellow not liking PP that much, I can see why that's likely not going to be brought up for Gold Ingot's arc. I do wonder if his other early Take 2 actions WILL be addressed though? Or will it just be handwaved as "early installment weirdness". Gold Ingot's arc is far from over, so I suppose we'll have to wait and see. There's a video that lists what crimes he would have, but it doesn't cover ALL of his transgressions in both seasons and the person who made it didn't know about the age thing AND both seasons taking place in Canada(the confirmation was in Yellow's Server, which I'm not in :[ ).

You know... Something that has always annoyed me was people assuming that objects who are small, act childishly, have high pitched voices or a combination of the 3 are automatically children AND take it as fact. I respect headcanons, not so much when people push it as fact in in regards to shipping about a show where the creators haven't even confirmed the age range of the characters. Also it's using the word coding wrong which is bad because coding is a very important thing in media that like most words some people don't even use right. :T BFDI especially is victim of this, and confirmation that the characters were ageless was only ever made in the most recent meetups. Pan from Paper Puppets gets this as well, seeing as most people didn't watch the season where Bag had a crush on him(plus it was confirmed on Discord that the characters in Take 2 are all adults). Not sure if II even has an answer to this?? Most object shows don't have confirmed ages for the characters, so misconceptions are bound to happen.

I don't think this really warrants being on my PPT2 predictions pages... I still stand by a lot of what I said there. I know, Chainsaw isn't really someone to root for to win, but with all of the drama going on I feel it makes more sense to deal with him at the end. Which is why I want Treasure Chest to start taking action. Chainsaw has a big following anyway. Some would say Chainsaw being the runner up would kill the tension because it's obvious he would lose anyway but... Would it really? He's shown to work with what he has in order to sabotage someone. He got rid of one of the biggest threats to him. Plus, sometimes it's the journey that matters. I feel PPT2 is one of those stories where I think it's best to forgo the "who should you root for" thing for something that befits the drama with the characters.
I think Plasma Ball has a much better chance at making it to the final 4 now. I was unsure given that Team H already had more than enough time for themselves and there was a pattern I noticed with how Caramel Cube and Post-It Note's eliminations went. I'll say that she would... Actually be a more satisfying finalist than Bottle. I still think Treasure Chest is the best pick mind you. I like to think a good winner should go to someone who has the history to earn their win. And as great as Bottle's development is... Well.. She was pretty much a supporting character for half of the season. Not saying she didn't do anything at all, I just feel Plasma Ball had more going on with her.
And let's be real here... Chainsaw is the only Bracket who has a chance of being a finalist, and the others aren't even close. Cup is a fun character, but a relatively late addition who isn't as involved in the ongoing merge. It's obvious that Ukulele will forgo the competition to be with Bubble Wrap again. Slipper is likely to go as a result of that. Basketball isn't really involved beyond him fucking with the Hs so cutting him out would be a good call. So that narrows down the choices a lot. The prediction was pretty easy to make with what I've seen, really.
I wouldn't be surprised if my prediction for the finalists ends up not being true. I at least hope Treasure Chest's story goes SOMEWHERE.... Is it too much to ask for a satisfying ending that makes sense with what's been building up to this point?
Also I just hope the competition side won't end on a anti climatic note just to pave way for the inevitable Mr. Hand stuff.

Azoic Assault and it's successors are alright, nothing to write home about. But this show has been propped up lately for "having lesbians", which seems to point to TNT and Lollipop. I find this interesting given what we have seen of their relationship. Lollipop is the one person TNT isn't very abrasive towards, and even then TNT is a lot more mellow than she was in previous seasons. Not much else... The shorts give more to their relationship than the episodes themselves manages to do. It doesn't really help much that Lollipop herself barely does anything, which doesn't make her elimination much of a surprise. Adding insult to injury is the fact that this season, for some reason doesn't have rejoins? They literally say it to our faces when it happens. And honestly, if it wasn't for those shorts, I wouldn't even have known that TNT has feelings for Lollipop. I don't know... I get the appeal, but in execution there isn't really much to their relationship and the characters themselves. Even for object show standards. There's people missing the point because of sublety, and there's people missing the point because the idea wasn't well conveyed enough. I don't really know much about the series in regards to it's production, so I wouldn't know if this was planned from the start. It's inoffensive, I just feel that it's a bit too overhyped.
(If one or both of them are of another sexuality, let me know)

I'm not much of a host person... But I see people group Paper Puppets' Gold Ingot with BOTO's Controlly every so often. This makes sense, seeing as they are both cruel Canadian object show hosts. I don't really see them getting along though???? I KNOW there was that one Azoic Assault episode, but Party Hat took Controlly's place anyway. Gold Ingot in Take 2 seems to have some semblance of standards, and I don't think even him would really approve of Controlly's scheme to use BOTO as a means to get money from a dead guy's corpse. That and... Well... Gold Ingot is considered unpleasant to be around in general by many, even other rich folk. I know majority of object show hosts are cruel with little to no disregard for their contestants' well being, but some of them do have more standards than others. And not all douchebags like being around other douchebags. What I'm saying is that I think Gold Ingot and Controlly should beat the shit out of each other. I'd pay to see it. B)

Oh yeah. It's been nearly... 3 months since "A Rotten Egg" came out. Honestly, I still stand by my opinion regarding it. It's a good episode for what it does with the characters it focuses on. It improves on the shortcomings that previous episodes had. I just feel like the previous 2 episodes were a lot more stronger in regards to how the characters were used. That and if you can't tell, I'm dreading how certain story lines will end at this pace. Maybe when more episodes come out will it be worth it. Such is one of the concerns when it comes to serialized storytelling. You never know if something will come out of it or if the story will move on like nothing happened. I will say, as much as I love object shows I have never been this invested into seeing who will win. Then again, back then most shows weren't really contestant voting. And the ones that were didn't really last that long or were II2. That and well. Most object shows didn't last long, period.

Sooo after a delay, Object Invasion is finally out. DID YOU KNOW: The older iterations were originally animated on Scratch.
I don't have much thoughts on it. I will say the one thing it has over the original episode is introducing the characters and enmeshing that with the setting. I have an idea of what most of them do.
The brand-based characters are gone, barring Skittle who is redesigned to Candy.
I know reboots often repeat the same events as the original, but I do wonder how much of the original this one is going to take. Pool is dead again and also Jellybean is here from the start. The latter seems to be off in her own world though. In the previous iteration of Object Invasion, Mace kidnaps a few of the contestants through his double agent Jellybean and hacking Phone's data. The show notoriously continues being a goofy comedy afterwards, but there was an arc about the contestants being wary of Jellybean despite turning over a new leaf. Seeing as TDOS' approach to overarching plots was more well received, I do wonder if this show will take another crack at the Mace subplot.
OH and Baguette gets redesigned to have 2 sets of legs. It's a really fun take on a lengthy asset. I wish object shows would do this more, but I understand why they don't go for the "4 legged" approach.
Uhhhh YellowAngiru voices Elastic Band. Episode is fine for what it does. That's it.

Oh yeah, apparently the next part of The Object Show Movie is still in development? I find it interesting considering the first two parts was based on the OSC during it's time. That and the humour used is very... Well most people would frown upon it nowadays. I don't even think most people would recognize who some of these hosts were??? The BFDIA Hiatus was a dark time and again there's a reason why most shows from that time have aged poorly. It's being treated as a sequel, but I prefer if it was a hard reboot instead. Would likely take away the baggage of it being a show made around 2014.

As much as I like Journalchest, I don't think it's really "toxic yaoi" at all. It's more just both of them being stressed out at the wrong time which leads to Journal hating Treasure Chest and the latter being more frustrated with him. As it stands in canon it's just very one sided animosity(which isn't all that complicated on said side). I suppose some people call it that because of it's similarities with the more dysfunctional Sodapack??? If anything, the Treasure Chest ship that IS closer to being more unhealthy would be Chainchest. Seeing as Chainsaw's actions does bring out the worst in Treasure Chest and whatnot. And you know... They both DESPISE each other and would go at various lengths to sabotage one another. I know not everyone refers to Journalchest that way, but this have been something I've seen lately in various circles. I know, people will use words where they don't actually fit. That behavior is still a big problem, not just in shipping but in general. I'll cut some slack knowing the demographic, but let's just say sometimes misuisng words can lead to some actually concerning ramifications in certain cases... Also it spreads misinformation which is just as bad.

I don't really ask for much. I just want an ending that's satisfying and makes sense with what's been shown. The merge has been full of interpersonal drama, so I feel it only makes sense to resolve it by defeating the source of that drama. <:] That and Chainsaw is a massive fan favorite so I feel some people would unironically want him to win anyway. :P
